Quick and Easy Home Remedy for Sore Throats

316185441_4fd2ac29a6_m.jpg Sore throats are usually manifest as inflammation and irritation of the throat tissues. One of the simplest remedies to reduce inflammation and make the throat feel more comfortable is to introduce the healing benefits of turmeric - the yellow powder commonly used to colour and flavour Asian foods.

Turmeric has the double benefit of being both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory and is very easy to use either mixed with honey or as a gargle.

How to Make Turmeric Gargle Sore Throat Remedy

Use one cup of warm to hot water (it should be at a comfortable drinking temperature) and stir in half a teaspoonful of salt and half a teaspoonful of turmeric powder. Mix thoroughly and gargle. You can use this remedy morning and night until the inflammation is reduced.

Please note that turmeric stains, please take care when spitting used gargle into the sink and rinse the sink immediately.
